Hello Hello!
A bit of a slow start to my day, I opened this page to post, but never did anything, and now coming back to it without writing makes me feel honestly a little guilty.
The leaves in my town are turning yellow quicker each day and it's making me so excited!
I CURRENTLY live in Alaska. For me the here the fall is always a bit different from what I've experienced in the PNW. It gets COLD fast, and the leaves just kind of turn yellow then all fall off, after everything sits on the floor for a week or so the whole place just stinks like mold and yucky dead leaves.
Even writing about it isn't exciting.
But in Oregonn, the fall was an experience I'll never forget. Everything is slow and gradual, then when all the trees are a combination of oranges, reds, yellows and browns, they begin to fall slowly. For about a week or two trees just take turns dropping their leaves, huge enormous maple leaves that flitter and dance around for what seems as long as they want before they fall.
I think my campus specifically curated the best experience, but all of my classes were set on the side of a hill that mirrored another, so there was a small channel that you could SEE the wind move through and just throw the leaves every which way. So instead of just falling and floating down to the ground, they just flew around everywhere! It was so beautiful, and sunny too, I can remember it so clearly, and I can't wait to get down there.
As for updates on the blog, probably going to be going slow for a week until I'm off work, but I've got big plans !
Heres another small moodboard for September:
- Find the best smelling fall candle for your room!
- Bake treats for you and your friends
- Clean your closet to make room for fall knit sweaters
- Relax and watch the leaves fall
