Okay now this isn't a thought piece, but more of a complain piece:
Lennar is one of those housing companies that creates labyrinths of grey, white, navy blue and charcoal houses that all look the same; suburbia hell! They use poor resources and skip corners on building, but most of the houses I've been seeing being complained about are the 2.5 million dollar ones and the FAKE wood flooring that the home owner requested- again fake, are splitting. Not in a natural way in a plastic way, it doesn't splinted with the grain of the wood it's just a random large crack that goes through the floor- many other problems I saw while rabbit-holing.
Many homeowners are trying to sue them, and I honestly think it's stupid. Sorry! Not really. Of course, they deserve justice, yes... but if you have a few million dollars to spend on a house, why are you using a humongous company where all the houses look the same? They don't look good, they just look like they're there? Like preset versions of a customizable home on a video game.
And it really annoys me that people invest SO much money into something that they will live in- the walls SOUND like they're made of 4 layers of cardstock... Your life is in danger girl.
It's literally my dream to own a giant beautiful house, and I plan (if I for some reason end up with 2.5 million units of fucking american dollars) to hire a private / small company or business that's had reputation for years on making personal quality homes. I want to pick out the wood flooring and the colored tiles for the bathroom. Why on earth would I try to live inside a load of bread carved with some room?
That's exactly what those houses are too, soft walls and floor with rushed foundation that might melt a little in the rain. No thank you!!
It does make me a little more upset than annoyed though because it contributes to this growing culture in our world of prioritizing beauty over safety and quality. I'm not blaming rich people and their houses solely, but I am accusing them of adding to the pile.
Back to that lady in the video- I mean exactly what I said:
Your life is in danger girl.
And she got to see for herself!! Hopefully everyone taking Lennar to court will get their justice, but I really hope rich people start acting educated, cause I KNOW they can make something beautiful if they wanted to.
This will be me, standing in front of my beautifully crafted, perfect dream home.
*but HAPPY.
